El fin
Tonight was our last night in España and it was kind of bittersweet. I have learned so much over my month traveling in Spain but one of the most important things I have learned that there is no place like home. I’m excited to see Ben and my family and friends and to actually cook and know what I’m eating! Tonight I took my last finals, emailed Maria my essay and then our culture class...

La familia
This weekend Mom and Dad came to visit in Valencia. They arrived Thursday afternoon and we spent the whole weekend touring around Valencia before they had to go back to Madrid for my dad to work. Thursday night we went to this little restaurant in the Plaça de la Reina called La Fonda, which means “the inn” in Spanish. We walked around a lot and I got to show them around what has...

The past two days we’ve been in Valencia recovering from all the traveling. Last night we went to the movies and saw Green Zone, and it was in English (with Spanish subtitles of course)! I really liked the movie too. Yesterday morning we slept in and successfully did some laundry. We actually found the one washer that drains! Today we got up and just did some more relaxing and catching up...

Toledo
Monday was our last day in Madrid and we woke up and went to the Real Jardín Botanico which was a really pretty botanical garden area in the city. We had a few hours just to walk around and relax in the garden and then we got on the high speed train to Toledo. Toledo was another small city outside of Madrid, it was only a little over 30 minutes by train. We didn’t have much time in Toledo...

Madrid
We spent about two days exploring the city of Madrid last weekend. Saturday we toured the Real Madrid’s fútbol stadium. We got to see the field, sit in the seats, tour the trophy room, see the visitor’s dressing room and the press room. For lunch Danielle, Hillary and I ate at TGI Fridays just for fun and we took a bus tour of Madrid afterwards. We also visited the Reina Sofia museum,...

Segovia
Thursday night we flew to Madrid, checked into our hotel and went to bed. Friday morning we took a bus to a small city outside of Madrid called Segovia. As we had previously learned in Sra. Maria’s class, Segovia is home to an extraordinary piece of history, a Roman aqueduct. This 2684 ft. structure was constructed with 25,000 granite blocks that were placed together without any kind of...

Science
Wednesday is one of my favorite days of the week because in the afternoon we get to come home to fresh towels and sheets sitting on our beds. This past Wednesday we went to the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum and the Hemisfèric IMAX theatre in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. The museum was really cool but I do wish we had more time. We didn’t get to all of the exhibits because we...
